About The Artist
Fine art photographer and mixed media artist Robert Medina Cook began his journey in the creative arts over fifty years ago in Santa Fe, New Mexico. An Indigenous New Mexican whose family roots span centuries in Northern New Mexico, Robert has become known for not only his unique photographic style, but his mixed media blend of original photography, organic elements and found materials- unique creations that seek to convey the Spirit, elegant simplicity and rustic beauty of his ancestral homeland, its animals, and its people.
Named a “Local Treasure” by the Albuquerque Art Business Association in 2012, Robert’s award‑winning work appears in numerous publications and private collections around the world, as well as in public art installations, museums, and corporate collections throughout Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and the wider New Mexico region. In 2018, he received the Felipe Samaniego Award of Excellence at the renowned Contemporary Hispanic Market held annually in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
